The Poets in Retreat series brings a new group of Seattle poets and poem-makers to the farm for a retreat weekend each year. The workshop is built as an opportunity for poets and critics to discuss new ideas, workshop current poems, receive feedback, and discover again their creative power, all with the informality and relaxation a rural environment can provide. As an effort by the farm to promote and cultivate poetry, the retreat also allows poets to design a project for presentation at the annual art festival. The program has been a great success, welcoming anywhere from 5-10 poets each summer to participate in the projects, workshop, and get inspired by the surrounding rural splendor!
